Kailua is one of Oahu’s most beloved towns — and one of its most beautiful filming locations. Home to Kailua Beach (consistently ranked one of America’s best beaches), the Mokulua Islands, Lanikai Beach, and lush Koolau Mountain backdrops, Kailua offers a completely different visual palette from Honolulu or the North Shore. Oahu Videographer films weddings, elopements, real estate videos, and drone aerials throughout Kailua and Windward Oahu.
Kailua’s windward side receives consistent trade winds, crystal-clear turquoise water, and lush green mountain backdrops — making it one of the most visually stunning wedding locations on Oahu. Beach ceremonies at Kailua Beach Park or Lanikai Beach are among the most popular on the island. We film Kailua weddings with full cinema coverage, drone aerials over the Mokulua Islands, and a storytelling approach that captures the magic of this side of the island.

Kailua and Lanikai are two of Oahu’s top elopement destinations — especially for sunrise ceremonies. The east-facing beaches catch Oahu’s first light with spectacular color, and the Mokulua Islands in the distance create a backdrop that looks almost too beautiful to be real. We film Kailua elopements with a small, unobtrusive crew — just the two of you and the ocean.

Kailua from the air is breathtaking — the translucent water over the reef, Lanikai’s white sand, the Mokulua Islands offshore, and the Ko’olau Mountains rising sharply behind the town. Most of Kailua’s airspace is uncontrolled (Class G), making drone authorization simpler than in Honolulu. Our FAA Part 107 certified pilots capture stunning aerials of Kailua, Lanikai Beach, and the surrounding coastline.

Kailua’s real estate market is one of Oahu’s most active — beachfront cottages, mountain-view estates, and waterfront properties that command premium prices. Professional video with drone aerials dramatically increases listing visibility and helps buyers understand the lifestyle and location these properties offer.

The windward side of Oahu gets consistent trade winds that keep the air clear and the skies dramatic. The Ko’olau Mountains catch orographic clouds that create moody, cinematic backdrops. The water color in Kailua Bay shifts from aqua to turquoise to deep blue across the reef — it’s some of the most visually compelling water in all of Hawaii. And the sunrise light on Kailua’s east-facing beaches is unlike anything on the south or west shore.
Personal events (weddings, elopements) on Kailua Beach Park may require a City and County of Honolulu Special Events Permit. We guide you through the permit process during planning and can assist with applications.
Lanikai Beach is accessed through private property easements and is best for small gatherings and elopements rather than large weddings. It’s one of Oahu’s most beautiful elopement spots. We know the access points and can coordinate your session accordingly.
The Mokulua Islands are state seabird sanctuaries — drone flights are not permitted to land or fly over the islands themselves, but aerial footage of the islands from offshore is possible with proper authorization and safe distances. We know the regulations and fly responsibly.
Kailua is approximately 12 miles from Honolulu, about 20–30 minutes via the H-3 freeway or Pali Highway. We travel to Kailua for projects regularly and include travel in our project planning.
